A collecting budget helps keep cards enjoyable within a comfortable limit. Start with what you actually want, not the latest spectacular pack opening online.
Separate three categories
Distinguish specific wanted cards, packs opened for enjoyment and accessories. Include shipping when comparing purchases. A slightly larger order is not automatically better value if it contains cards you do not need.
Rank your wanted cards
Keep a short list: one priority, a few secondary targets and purchases that can wait. Compare copies with the same language, version and condition. The lowest price does not always refer to the item you wanted.
Review at the end of the month
Look at the cards you actually used or enjoyed organising. Adjust future choices around that experience. Collectibles do not guarantee increasing value; build your selection around an interest you can enjoy over time.
