Resources in Lorcana need planning. To improve, consider which cards you will actually need over the next few turns instead of making choices based only on rarity.
Plan your next turn
Identify the play you want to make next and the resources it needs. Check the opposing board too: an attractive late-game card may matter less than an immediate answer. Refer to the official rules to confirm which cards can enter your inkwell.
Judge cards in context
A duplicate is not automatically expendable. Conversely, holding every expensive card can leave you struggling to develop your game. Compare each card's immediate usefulness, its role in your strategy and whether you can play it in time.
Keep a short game journal
After a loss, ask when your resources stopped matching your hand. Change only a few cards before testing again. This approach helps distinguish a decision you could improve from an unlucky draw.
