Disney characters make collecting appealing, but playing Lorcana with a friend adds another dimension to the cards. A good first session focuses on understanding the game and wanting to play again.
Keep the setup simple
Use ready-to-play decks or complete lists whose legality you have checked. A booster can expand a collection; a single pack does not replace a playable deck. Clear the table and open the official tutorial before starting.
Explain decisions out loud
During early games, describe what you hope to achieve with each card. Take time to read abilities and distinguish the different play areas. If an interaction stops the game, consult Ravensburger's resources instead of inventing a rule.
Improve with familiar cards
Replay the same decks several times before buying upgrades. Record one interesting decision and one difficulty after each game. This helps you discover whether you enjoy fast strategies, resilient characters or longer games.
