Record cards that stay in your hand, turns when you lack options and situations where you lose initiative. Concrete observations are more useful than a list of cards with a powerful reputation.
Give every addition a job
A new card should help your early game, support your strategy or address a recurring difficulty. Check colours, format and current construction rules. Attractive artwork and high rarity do not guarantee that a card belongs in your deck.
Compare before buying
Test one change at a time with your group under clearly agreed casual conditions. When you need an exact card, use a targeted search; opening boosters remains random discovery. Keep your previous list so you can compare results.
