Sealed is one of the best ways to learn a new Magic set because the card pool is fixed: your job is not to predict a metagame, but to turn what you opened into the most consistent 40-card deck possible. Reality Fracture's synergies reward attention, yet the fundamentals still come first.
Start with the non-negotiables
At prerelease, Wizards' guide has players build a 40-card deck from the contents of the prerelease pool plus basic lands. The Reality Fracture Prerelease Pack contains six Play Boosters, a traditional-foil promo, a deck box and a Spindown die. Your exact pool will vary, so no article can promise a specific deck or rare.
Use a curve before you chase synergy
Wizards offers a useful starting curve for Sealed: roughly 1–2 one-mana cards, 7–8 two-drops, 5–6 three-drops, 3–4 four-drops, 2–3 five-drops, 0–1 six-drops and about 17 lands. It is a guideline, not a law. Your colours, fixing and card quality can justify moving away from it.
The important habit is to lay the deck out by mana value. If the first meaningful action is on turn three, ask whether your removal or defensive creatures compensate. If half the deck costs four or more, even powerful cards may sit in hand while the opponent develops.
Choose colours by depth, not by one spectacular card
Sort each colour into playable creatures, interaction, fixing and build-around cards. A single bomb is attractive, but a colour with only four other playable cards can make the whole deck weaker. Start from the deepest colour, then compare which partner gives the best combination of curve, interaction and synergy.
Splash only when the mana supports it
Heartwood tokens and other fixing can make a splash possible, but every extra colour has a cost. Splash a card because it materially improves the deck, not because it is exciting. Count actual sources and consider when the splash card needs to be cast.
Sideboarding is part of Sealed
Your unused pool remains a resource between games. Bring in narrow answers when you have seen a target, adjust the curve if an opponent is much faster, and remove cards whose setup is too demanding for the matchup. This is often more valuable than trying to build a “perfect” list before round one.
