Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution—Delta Reign now has a confirmed Prerelease starting date and a fully detailed Build & Battle Box. The Pokémon Company International announced the expansion on 20 August 2026, then published its Prerelease guide on 28 September. Select Play! Pokémon Stores begin offering early events and boxes on 24 October 2026, ahead of the set’s worldwide release date listed as 6 November 2026.
This is a useful milestone for players planning their first games with the set. It also establishes a clear reference point before more cards and retail products are shown.
Confirmed dates for Delta Reign
- Expansion announced: 20 August 2026;
- Prerelease guide published: 28 September 2026;
- Prerelease begins at select Play! Pokémon Stores: 24 October 2026;
- official expansion release: 6 November 2026.
The official page does not give one universal end date for every local Prerelease event. Players should therefore use the Play! Pokémon Event Locator and check the schedule of the participating store rather than assume that every venue follows the same timetable.
What is inside the Build & Battle Box?
Each Mega Evolution—Delta Reign Build & Battle Box contains:
- one ready-to-play 40-card deck built from cards in current and previous expansions;
- one of four unique foil promo cards;
- four Mega Evolution—Delta Reign booster packs.
The four possible promo Pokémon named by Pokémon are Masquerain, Magmortar, Enamorus and Kommo-o. The box shown in this article is the official Build & Battle product intended for this early-play format. Pokémon also says that the box will remain available for purchase when the expansion launches, although local stock and allocation are not guaranteed.
How does a Pokémon Prerelease work?
The official Prerelease format uses a 40-card deck and four Prize cards, instead of the usual 60-card deck and six Prize cards. The prebuilt deck gives players a functional starting point; the four included boosters can then be used to adjust it within the event’s construction rules.
This makes the event different from simply opening four packs. The limited card pool, smaller deck and shorter Prize race are designed for quick games and for testing the expansion before the general release. Exact pairings, round structure and entry conditions remain venue-specific.
What is already known about the expansion?
Pokémon confirms that Delta Reign contains more than 135 cards, including more than 20 Trainer cards and more than 35 Pokémon and Trainer cards with special illustrations. Mega Rayquaza ex leads the announcement alongside Mega Golurk ex, Mega Malamar ex and Mega Golisopod ex.
The official French site confirms the localized name Méga-Évolution – Règne Delta. English and French presentation are therefore verified through official pages. Availability and product names in other languages, as well as the complete retail product range beyond the Build & Battle Box, are not announced in the sources checked here.
What to verify before attending
