There is no single “best” Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek product. A Prerelease Pack solves a different problem from a Bundle, and a Play Booster Display serves a different group from a Collector Booster. The useful choice starts with what you plan to do with the cards—not with the most premium packaging.
Wizards of the Coast lists Prerelease events for 6–12 November 2026 and the global tabletop release for 13 November 2026. This guide uses the official product contents available on 26 October and the live French-language listings in the MoxCards catalogue. Availability and delivery dates can change, especially because Wizards has announced selected regional delays.
The quick decision
- Choose a Prerelease Pack if you want the self-contained card pool used to build one Sealed deck at a Prerelease.
- Choose Play Boosters if you want to draft, play Sealed with friends, or open the main set without paying for collector-only finishes.
- Choose a Bundle if you want nine Play Boosters plus lands, a counter and a reusable storage box for a personal set-opening session.
- Choose Collector Boosters only if premium treatments are the goal and you accept higher variance and cost.
- Choose a Commander deck if you want a complete 100-card multiplayer deck; our separate Commander deck guide compares that decision.
Prerelease Pack: one Sealed pool, not an event ticket
The official contents are six Play Boosters, one traditional-foil rare or mythic rare card, one deck box and one Spindown die. Six boosters give you the card pool from which you build a 40-card Sealed deck, with basic lands supplied according to the event organiser’s arrangements.
The French Star Trek Prerelease Pack is therefore the clearest choice when your objective is to practise Sealed or attend a Prerelease. The product itself is not registration for a particular event. Confirm the venue, start time, language, entry fee and whether the organiser supplies the pack before buying separately.
For preparation, bring sleeves, a pen, counters and a simple deck-building plan. Sort by colour, identify removal and reliable creatures, then compare the mana requirements of your strongest cards. Do not treat the foil promo as an automatic reason to play its colours.
Play Boosters: the flexible choice for Draft and Sealed
Wizards states that each Star Trek Play Booster contains 14 cards, including at least one rare or mythic rare and one traditional foil. Play Boosters can contain cards from the TRK main set and the SDS stardates sheet; cards opened from them are legal in Star Trek Draft and Sealed.
A single French Play Booster suits a small opening or an add-on. A 30-booster French display makes more sense when a group has already agreed how many players, packs and rounds it wants. A display is inventory, not an event format: decide the allocation before opening it and set aside basic lands, tokens and sleeves separately.
For four players, Wizards’ dedicated Draft Night product uses 12 Play Boosters for a Pick-Two Draft, plus lands, tokens and a Collector Booster. That official configuration is useful as a planning reference even if you assemble your own evening from a display. Do not assume every draft uses the same pack count; agree on the format first.
Bundle: a personal opening session with useful accessories
The standard Star Trek Bundle contains nine Play Boosters, 15 traditional-foil basic lands, 15 non-foil basic lands, one traditional-foil promo, two reference cards, an oversized Spindown counter and a storage box. Five lands in each basic-land group use full-art holodeck art.
The French Star Trek Bundle is a coherent option if you want to open several boosters, keep the cards together and gain a pool of matching lands. It is not a complete Constructed deck and it is not the same product as the Beam Me Up Bundle, which has a different booster mix and exclusive schematic-style promo cards. Check the exact title and contents before comparing prices.
Collector Boosters: buy the finish, not a promise
A Collector Booster contains 15 cards and concentrates premium variants, multiple rares or mythic rares and treatments that do not all appear in Play Boosters. Wizards identifies Collector Boosters as the only source for several premium finishes, including traditional-foil Klingon-script cards and surge-foil versions of selected frames. Signed headliner cards can appear, but Wizards describes them as extremely scarce: seven designs exist, with fewer than 250 copies of each.
That makes a French Collector Booster a collecting purchase, not a rational requirement for Draft, Sealed or Commander. Never budget around pulling a specific card, treatment or signature. If one particular card is the objective, compare the eventual single-card price with the cost and uncertainty of sealed product.
There is also a timing caveat. Wizards’ 16 October delay notice says English-, French- and German-language Collector Boosters in Europe, the Middle East and Africa may arrive after the 13 November tabletop release. A sellable preorder page does not guarantee a specific delivery day; rely on the latest order status rather than the original release calendar.
A practical comparison
| Your goal | Best starting product | What it does not guarantee |
|---|---|---|
| Build one Sealed deck | Prerelease Pack | Event entry, a strong promo or a winning pool |
| Draft or play Sealed with a group | Play Boosters or a display | Lands, sleeves, balanced teams or an agreed format |
| Open several packs and store the set | Bundle | A playable deck or collector-only treatments |
| Chase premium variants | Collector Booster | Any specific treatment, card or signature |
| Play Commander immediately | Commander deck | A deck matched to your preferred strategy unless you compare the four themes |
Three checks before ordering
- Language: verify that the listing says French if that is what you want. A product image is not enough; read the product title and variant.
- Use: write down the session you intend to run—one Sealed pool, a four-player draft, a personal opening or a Commander night. Buy for that session.
- Timing: distinguish release date, retailer preorder status and actual dispatch. Regional delays mean these dates can differ.
