Traditional Sealed starts with six unopened boosters. Its appeal lies in making choices from a limited pool rather than buying a complete deck list beforehand.

Sort before choosing

Group cards by colour, then examine the mana curve and interactions. Do not pick a colour solely because it contains your favourite rare. A coherent group of ordinary cards can work better than powerful spells that are difficult to cast.

Keep the first build simple

A forty-card deck helps you draw your strongest cards more consistently. Basic lands supplement the pool. Beginning with two colours is a useful learning guideline, not an absolute requirement. Adding a third colour needs a clear reason and reliable ways to produce the necessary mana.

Test and adjust

Before the first round, shuffle and inspect a few opening hands to spot obvious imbalances. This does not replace real games, but it can reveal an excessively expensive curve. Keep unused cards organised so you can review possible adjustments. Read the event’s rules and ask the organiser if its version of Sealed differs from the traditional format.
