A useful upgrade solves an observed problem. Before searching for a format’s most famous card, identify what is costing you games: mana, missing answers or running out of cards.

Start with games played

For a few sessions, record one main cause after each loss. A single game is not enough to condemn a card. If the same difficulty returns, find several cards that fill the required role and compare cost and compatibility.

Replace instead of piling on

Name a card to remove for every addition. This makes you explain the expected improvement and preserves the intended deck size. Do not automatically cut the unglamorous cards that keep the list functioning.

Buy gradually

Prioritise changes that help in several situations. Verify format legality and the exact variant you order. Reserve a little for worn sleeves or suitable storage: the practical cost of a deck includes the supplies you use every time you play.
