Your Leader gives your deck a direction. A favourite character is a good starting point, but its gameplay should also make you want to play several games.
Read before building
Check the Leader's colour, characteristics and ability. Consult Bandai's guide to understand deck construction: your choice of Leader determines which cards you can combine in the deck.
Picture a turn
Try to describe your strategy in simple terms. Do you want to develop your board quickly, hold answers or prepare a combination? If the explanation requires too many exceptions, start with a more approachable list.
Shop from a list
Search for exact card references and check their language. A booster such as The Azure Sea's Seven lets you explore a set, but does not guarantee the cards required by a particular deck. Test a coherent list before adding multiple variants.
